Planning and control of autonomous mobile robots for intralogistics: Literature review and research agenda

• We define autonomous mobile robots in intralogistics. explain the evolution from automated guided vehicles to robots. identify technological advances affecting planning and control decisions. provide guidance methods plan a research agenda for of Autonomous (AMR) are currently being introduced many intralogistics operations, like manufacturing, warehousing, cross-docks, terminals, hospitals. Their advanced hardware software allow operations dynamic environments. Compared an vehicle (AGV) system which central unit takes scheduling, routing, dispatching decisions all AGVs, AMRs can communicate negotiate independently with other resources machines systems thus decentralize decision-making process. Decentralized allows react dynamically changes state environment. These developments have influenced traditional processes control. This study identifies classifies related extended literature review that highlights how AMR affect contribute by introducing framework guide managers process, thereby supporting them achieve optimal performance. Finally, we propose future within this field.
